Training in the use, maintenance and joy of the Austrian Scythe

My standard one day scything courses are designed to introduce attendees to using and looking after an Austrian scythe. The course is suitable for a range of experience levels, from complete beginners to those who have been using a scythe but feel that it could be working better for them.

The structure of the day will be as follows:

I run courses at a number of inspiring venues. 2022 dates and locations are listed on this page. Booking is via the venue websites; please follow the link for the course that interests you.

I also provide one-to-one and private group training at a location of your choosing, within a reasonable travelling distance of Oxfordshire. These sessions can follow a standard course outline or be bespoke to suit your needs. To discuss this option, please use the Contact page to get in touch.

Most of those attending prefer to purchase an Austrian scythe in advance of their course, to set up and learn on during the day. However, I have a limited number of scythes which can be hired, but this must be arranged in advance when you book your course. An additional hire cost may apply. The FAQs page provides some further information.
